My expertise is in routine analytical chemistry: as a technical assistant (water preparation) then instrument technician (organics) at Hill Laboratories I performed a wide range of analyses on environmental soil and water samples.

I was also a research associate at Plant and Food Research investigating chemicals involved in the “communication” of plants and insects as well as the application of these chemicals for monitoring and controlling insect populations.

Prior to joining Waterways I spent two years working at Autoneum in Switzerland assisting with quality control and research and development of parts manufactured for the automobile industry.
